Message:
The month of Saawan brings rainfall, helping nature regain its true beauty. Like the vegetation that begins to blossom in this month; similarly, the soul (referred to as bride/wife) that is occupied in Paramatma’s name, is rejuvenated and blossoms. The rain drops falling from above represent drops of nectar from the Creator which provide peace to the soul. We can only enjoy the benefits of this nectar through the guidance of a Guru. In the company of a Guru the mind and body become saturated in this nectar and continuously long for the love and name of Paramatma. No worldly pleasures or desires delight. The month of Saawan brings joy to those who adorn their souls with the name and love of the Creator.
Reflection:
There are two types of desires; one causes our suffering and the other gives us liberation. Worldly desires bind us and give us pain. They are the main causes of our sorrow and disappointment. The desire of our Guru’s darshan provides us with happiness.
Bai Mansukh, while working and continuing to perform his worldly duties, forever kept Guru Ji in his mind and heart no matter how far he was from them physically. He was unfazed by the skepticism of others that questioned whether Guru ji would come to give him darshan. It was in this yearning and anticipation that he felt true peace.
